Dr. Molly Bathje is Assistant Professor at DePaul University in the Occupational Therapy Program. She earned a Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy from St. Ambrose University, a Master’s degree in Health Systems Management from Rush University, and a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Interdisciplinary Health Science from Western Michigan University.

An occupational therapist for over 25 years, her clinical experience includes providing occupational therapy services in psychiatric, pediatric, and older adult settings in both staff and leadership positions. Dr. Bathje’s scholarly work focuses on understanding and addressing health disparities faced by people with disabilities and ensuring future health care providers are prepared to meet the needs of this population.

Dr. Bathje has published and presented her work nationally and internationally. She serves as an Assistant Editor for the Open Journal of Occupational Therapy and as a peer reviewer for several other publications. She is a past Executive Board member for the Illinois Occupational Therapy Association and currently serves on several committees. Dr. Bathje also volunteers with organizations supporting people who are unhoused and housing insecure and is a Board member for Community Support Services, an organization providing services to people with intellectual or developmental disabilities and their families.
